Guest Book: what our visitors have to say

Drake’s Cottage:

“We live and work in the countryside and are veterans of Premier Cottages across England.

This is a gem. A super example of using the traditional charm of a Mid Devon farm to merge it invisibly with modern day holiday elements.

The cottages are spacious, surroundings delightful, facilities excellent along with a warm welcome and Devon Cream Tea.”John & Joy Parry, Shropshire

“What a lovely Cottage. We have had a lovely week, thank you.

The swimming pool is fantastic! Thanks also for the fabulous play areas – it seemed a shame to go to the seaside!

What a beautiful place!”The Hann Family, Kent

“Our first holiday as a family and one to remember.

A real treat seeing such beauty & watching the hens and ducks roam freely – The cottage is fully equipped with everything we needed.

Thank you for such a lovely stay.
C U again in Sept”Alan, Nicky & Shaina, Hampshire

Tilly’s Cottage:

“We had a lovely time here. The cottage was very comfortable – great couches. The kids loved the pool!

Good outings to Exmoor Zoo (very recommendable), Exmouth beach (equally as good), the pony centre and a fab day out shopping via the Park & Ride to Exeter. The men played golf and we all had a brilliant time.

Oh, great morning croissants too! Thanks very much.”Vicky, Andy, Jessie, Alex, Megan & Edward Chidgey, Bristol

“Super Cottage, very well thought out and practical. One of the best cottages we’ve stayed in. Excellent hosts and were more than happy to keep the pool open if requested. A very relaxing week – thank you. The Mount Pleasant Inn at Nomansland, reasonably priced and of good quality. Also if thinking of going to Barnstaple – go by train. £10 return for family of four from Eggesford.”Lesley, John, Catherine and Tim Whitelow, London
“We had a great time – thought of everything to make your holiday a stress free time, even down to two of everything in the kitchen so you don’t run out when dishwasher is on.

Loved the pool & games room – only negative thing is that we have to wait another year before we can return.

Even weather was on our side once again many thanks for sharing your bit of paradise with us.”Osbornes, Osbornes & Wilshers, Essex

Jonquil Cottage:

“Great family holiday. We had three other cottages and we all thought they were exceptionally finished and practical for use.

The children liked to swim at all hours.
We even used the cricket strip!”Connie & Frank Mathews, Peterborough

“A wonderful (if too short) stay at a lovely place. Pool great (Laura doubled the distance she could swim) and you couldn’t ask more than warm croissants in the morning! Both NT houses excellent but recommend the tour of the kitchen garden at Knightshayes.

Overall right “up there” with our best holidays.”John, Cathy & Laura – Berkshire

“Fantastic, well equipped cottage, very clean, set in the most beautiful countryside.

We loved our short stay in Devon and cannot fault our hosts.”Lillian & John Bradley – Australia

Saffi’s Cottage:

“The Hosts were incredibly accommodating. The facilities, especially the pool were superb. Nothing nicer than having delicious hot croissants & pain au chocolate in the morning.

Try the Mitre Inn the food is amazing and the chocolate fondant is to die for. We had to go back! Had a great day at the Big Sheep, fun for kids and adults of all ages. Worth a trip to Atlantic shopping village too.

We will be back again for a longer stay.”Whitaker Family – Bucks

“Beautiful Cottage, lovely to have the sheep and lambs so close by. Really peaceful. The Miniature Pony Centre was a great hit with our 2.5 year old. She was able to ride a pony but was more excited by sitting on the tractor! Living Coasts at Torquay a really good day out. Devon Railway Centre also enjoyed by our little one but it’s a bit small.

Swimming pool is wonderful. Very welcoming. Bread & Pastries very good.

Thanks for a lovely stay.”Julia, Paul & Rhian – Surrey
